Family Camp is the ultimate opportunity to experience the magic of summer camp at Akita as a family! Through a specifically designed program, each family will be led through a weekend by the Akita staff that includes a good balance of family time, kid interaction, adult socializing, off-the-wall fun, and the stillness of a spiritual retreat. Getting outside of the city will allow us all to turn the cell phones off, leave our computers, and enjoy valuable time as a family.
Each morning at Family Camp, all children are divided into small groups based on age and experience fun, supervised activities. During this time, parents are encouraged to explore Akita on their own, sign up for activities, or just relax.
In the afternoon, there is time set aside for a variety of options, including the lake, craft cabin, climbing tower, giant swing, café, and bikes. Several staff members are assigned to each option to help it run smoothly and safely. During the evening, adult activities are provided along with a separate activity for kids in 7th grade and older. Babysitters are available at no charge and will supervise your younger children.
For breakfast, lunch, and dinner, we share family-style meals in the dining hall, and we even provide servers for each table!
Note to parents: If your kids are entering 1st grade or older, they can also join us for summer camp! Read about our other Summer Camp sessions
