Akita Weekends

General information

About the K-5 & Family Akita Weekend

This virtual retreat is geared toward current elementary-aged kids, but pre-schoolers will also love these activities with the help of their families. Options include crafts, games, and silly tutorials that will keep everyone laughing. Campers will be able to participate independently in many of the Options, but some (like the Akita Café cooking tutorials) require parental guidance. Be sure to check the schedule for details on what’s in store!

Activities

Team Challenge is optional activities campers complete to receive points for their assigned Team. Learn more about the Team Challenge.

Options are activities like crafts, games, dance, and cooking tutorials. Campers can enjoy as many or as few as they prefer. Options are live on Zoom and recorded for later viewing.

Tiki Time is our full-group gathering for campfire songs, games, and a short message. Tiki Time is live on Zoom.

Camper Night is a camper talent show. Campers can sign up to share talents such as playing a musical instrument, performing a dance, reading original poetry, sharing artwork, doing magic tricks, or whatever talent or skill they’d like to share with the group! Participation is optional, and all are invited to watch.

Movie Night is a Netflix Watch Party. Akita Staff will choose a movie that the group will watch together on Netflix from their home computers. Campers will have the opportunity to talk together in the “chat.” Learn how to set up your computer or laptop for the Movie Night.
