Netflix Party Instructions

Please complete these steps prior to our movie start time, as it can take a few minutes to get set up. Netflix Party allows us to watch an age-appropriate movie together and “chat” while watching.

You will need:

A desktop computer or laptop with Google Chrome. You'll view the movie from the computer instead of your TV. Netflix Party does not work on iPads or tablets.

A Netflix account. Netflix offers a free 30-day trial for new subscribers.

A Google Chrome extension (free). To add it, follow the instructions below.

How to Download Netflix Party for Google Chrome:

Visit netflixparty.com on your Google Chrome browser. This will not work on a different web browser.
Click Get Netflix Party for free.
You'll be redirected to the Google Chrome web store page to download the extension. Click Add to Chrome. (Pictured below)
A pop-up box will open. Select Add Extension. you'll now see a gray "NP" (Netflix Party) icon in your browser toolbar. (Pictured below)

How to Join our Netflix Watch Party:

Camp Akita staff will post a link to our Netflix Party on BAND. Click that link to join.

If the movie begins playing right away, you are not in our Netflix Party yet. Do not fear! Click the NP icon on the top right of your browser toolbar. You'll know you're in the Netflix Party if you see a chat on the right-hand side of your screen.

Once you join our Netflix Party, you can add your name, say Hi to fellow campers, and chat during the movie!
