Each summer, more than 1,500 campers attend Camp Akita for fun, reflection, and fellowship. Our mission is to provide young people with a place to learn about and connect with themselves, their friends, the outdoors, and a loving God.
We welcome children from all religious, socioeconomic, and ethnic backgrounds. By creating an atmosphere that is safe and open to all, our campers are able to have fun, make new friends, and spend time talking about the important things in their own lives. It is our belief that spiritual development is an important part of every child’s journey to adulthood and we celebrate that faith takes many forms.
Each year, we give between $15,000 and $20,000 in scholarships to resettled refugees and to campers needing financial assistance. We strongly believe that all children can benefit from experiencing camp, and our goal is to ensure that a lack of money does not cause a camper to miss out on this experience.
Your donations make this goal possible. By giving directly to the scholarship fund, you are helping expand the camp experience to even more people.
Camp Akita is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
Thank you for your support.
