Give to Camp Akita

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Camp Akita is facing different financial challenges than ever before. For details on our pandemic response, read our COVID-19 update page.

We are lucky to have some financial reserves, but those reserves are not endless. It is always a good time to donate to Camp Akita. Right now, all donations will go toward:

  • Providing stipends for 2020 counselors and summer staff. 43 college-age counselors and leadership staff were hired in early February to begin working in mid-May. If camp programming is altered or abbreviated, we will provide a stipend to those who had committed to work this summer. Your gift can help us thank those who were willing to work at Camp Akita who we may unfortunately be unable to employ this summer.
  • Caring for our facilities and year-round needs. Despite the uncertainty of our 2020 programming, our buildings, grounds, and staff require ongoing support. Providing essential upkeep and development will allow Camp Akita to be ready for us when we are able to return!
  • Scholarship funds for campers.  Each year, we provide $15,000 in scholarships to campers needing financial assistance, including resettled refugees. Our goal is to ensure that a lack of money does not prevent a child from attending Camp Akita. Now more than ever, needs are rising for our campers. We will likely need more scholarship funds to assist families who have been financially affected by this pandemic.

Camp Akita is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
