1,2,3...Akita! Package

Camp Akita is an integral part of First Community. 1,2,3...Akita! is a way for children going into first, second, and third grades to get their first Camp Akita experience. Each summer, campers and the K-5 team explore the culture of one of the countries where First Community has a mission connection. This is a time for our youngest Akita campers to learn about how kids in other parts of the world live while developing relationships with other campers and camp leaders.

This year, campers will experience "Mission to India," where we will explore Indian culture through movement, games, crafts, music and food. Each day will consist of live online sessions, videos, a Zoom chat with your Counselors and cabin group, a dance party, and extra lesson videos that can be explored independently. Participants will receive a packet of materials to support the activities, a Camp Akita t-shirt, and yard sign.

July 20, 21 & 22
9-11 am each day
$45 per Household. Includes:
- Registration for 1 child, one t-shirt, one yard sign
- Additional children in the same family: $15 each.
  Includes one child's registration & one t-shirt
Cancellations: A $15 fee will be held for any cancellations after registering.

Registration Information:

Registration begins Monday, June 15 at 9 am at campakita.org
Final day to register will be Friday, July 10.
There is no priority registration or discount for First Community members or for those who originally registered for the 2020 summer 1,2,3...Akita! day camp.
Registered campers will receive additional details about their group assignment, virtual platforms, and how to participate by July 15.

What's Included:

Yard Sign: Paint the town green with a yard sign that tells neighbors Camp Akita happens in your home!

Camp Akita 1,2,3... Akita! t-shirt

Group Assignment: Request up to 3 "buddies" that you would like to be grouped with in the online cabin group. We will do our best to accommodate as many of the requests as possible!

Program Packet: Participants will receive a packet of materials to support the activities. Written directions for activities will be included in the packet.

Camp Community Fun

Group activities
Program videos: Participants will have access to videos on Indian cooking, games, art and picture books that they can view and try out independently.
