What is Family Camp?

Family Camp is the ultimate opportunity to experience the magic of Camp Akita as a family! Camp Akita staff will lead families through a weekend that includes a balance between family time, off-the-wall fun, and the stillness of a spiritual retreat.

Children will get a chance to make new friends, and adults will have the opportunity to socialize and connect. Getting outside the city allows us all to take a break from technology, experience the outdoors together, and enjoy valuable family time at summer camp!

Note to parents: If your kids are entering 1st grade or older, they can also join us for summer camp!  Read about our other Summer Camp sessions

2026 Family Camp Dates & Prices *

• Friday, August 14 – Sunday, August 16
  
• $165* per person (MEM)
• $175* per person (NM)
• Children age 3 and under are free

Activities & Schedule

Here is a general outline of the weekend (Note: Schedule is subject to change prior to August 2026):

Friday:

• 4:30 - 7 pm:  Check-in and Free Time. After checking in, families can visit the Lake, Alpine Tower, Craft Cabin, and Cafe. Staff lead activities at each location, but children must be accompanied by their grown-up at these activities.
• 5:30 pm:  Dinner
• 7 pm:  Welcome and campfire songs.
• 7:30 pm:  Family Time (put young children to bed, unpack, etc.)
• 8:30 pm:  Babysitters available for children in 5th grade and younger.
• 9 pm:   Grown-ups Activity (Lodge); 6th grade and older activity (Craft Cabin).
• 11 pm:  Camp is quiet.
