On Sunday, September 29, we kicked off a year-long celebration of Camp Akita's 75th Anniversary! A part of our year-long commemoration are Celebration Sundays at Camp Akita, with the third Celebration Sunday coming up on Sunday, April 6.

Activities are at no charge, but registration is requested to help plan supplies and staffing.

Spring Celebration Sunday Activities:

• Akita Dog Day:  Dogs (and their family members!) are welcome down at Camp Akita for an afternoon of hiking, running and some fun "dog" activities! All dogs must be leashed while in the main camp area (gravel circle, Lodge, Dining Hall). If your dog is well behaved and gets along with other dogs and people, you can let them run loose on the lower fields, hiking paths, or even take a jump in the lake! We ask that you clean up after your dog while on-site.

• Wildflower Walk: Explore the Akita grounds while taking a walk with Andy Frick, Assistant Summer Camp Director, and learn all about the natural wildflowers at Camp Akita!

• Nature Scavenger Hunt: Grab a scavenger hunt card at the check-in tent and see how many items you can find at Camp Akita!  A fun option to explore different areas of camp!
