How do I make a reservation?

What are the prices and payment methods?

Our Rental Cabins have different rates for members and non-members, weekends and weekdays. See cabin pricing details for more information.

The Lodge and Dining Hall are priced based on the type of group, time of week, size of group, number of meals, and any special needs. For pricing information, please contact us.

We accept cash, check, Mastercard, or Visa. A non-refundable deposit on cabin rental is required to guarantee your reservation and is due within 30 days of your reservation. If your reservation date does not allow for the 30 days, this deposit is due at the time you make your reservation.

Where do I check in? When can I arrive/depart?

Our check-in policy will be explained to you upon confirmation of your reservation. Check-in time is 4:00 p.m. Check-out time is 11:00 a.m.

What should I bring? Are bed linens offered at Akita?

You should bring: Bed Linens, Towels, Food, Clothing and Personal Items. All of our winterized cabins have been stocked with pots, pans, glasses, dishes and flatware for your convenience. Please refer to the cabin descriptions for bed sizes.

Bed linens are currently not offered by Camp Akita; please contact us if you have any questions.

What is the smoking policy at Akita?

Akita is a non-smoking facility. Smoking is not permitted in or near any of the buildings.

Can we use the waterfront facilities?

Seasonally-permitting, the lake is available. Lifeguards are not provided, so use of the waterfront is at your own risk.

Are pets permitted in camp?

Pets are permitted in the rental cabins, but with the understanding that any damage done by the pet is the responsibility of the owner. Pets are prohibited in the Lodge or Dining Hall. While outdoors, pets must be kept on a leash. Owners are responsible for cleaning up and disposing of pet waste.

What about campfires?

Multiple campfire circles have been built around camp. These may be used by adults only. No fires may be built in unauthorized areas.

Large Groups

Do we need to bring our own basketballs or other sporting equipment?

A modest supply of recreational supplies is available. Arrangements should be made in advance with the camp staff.

Can we bring our own food into the Lodge?

Yes. Groups are more than welcome to bring their own food, however cooking facilities are not available in the Lodge. Please also keep in mind that we do have a minimum that must be spent on food and/or lodging.

Can any group rent Akita?

Yes. However, we do reserve the right to refuse a group for any reason.

What type of programming do you provide?

We will be more than happy to assist you in any manner that we can so that your event runs smoothly.  For information or for questions, please contact our Columbus offices.

What audio visual support do you provide?

Our facilities are equipped with a complete sound system, including amplifiers, equalizer microphones, CD and cassette players. The main meeting room in our lodge is also equipped with a video screen, video projector, large screen television, digital satellite system, VCR and overhead projector. If you require additional A/V support, we will work closely with you to fulfill those needs.
