What is Family Camp?

Family Camp is the ultimate opportunity to experience the magic of summer camp at Akita as a family! Through a specifically designed program, each family will be led through a weekend by the Akita staff that includes a good balance of family time, kid interaction, adult socializing, off the wall fun, and the stillness of a spiritual retreat. Getting outside of the city will allow us all to turn the cell phones off, leave our computers, and enjoy valuable time as a family.

Living Together at Family Camp

• Each family will be housed in a section of the Akita lodge or one of our hillside cabins.
• Meals will be provided by our world famous Akita Kitchen Staff!
• The lake will be open each day only when our certified Life Guard staff is on duty.
• We are trying our best to make Camp Akita a “Cell Phone Free Zone” to allow us to get away from the distractions of life back home. If business calls are necessary during the weekend, we can help find discrete times/places to get service.
• In order to be consistent with our Summer Camp policies, Alcohol and drugs will not be permitted during the Family Camp time. It is our hope and expectation that each family will help us keep this important message clear to all our campers. Thank you.
• A team of our high school “L.I.F.E. Guard” service work crew will be on hand for the weekend to help serve families by cleaning up camp, babysitting, and serving meals.

This year's camp was September 3-6, 2010. There is a $75 non-refundable deposit per family registration. Children ages 3 and younger are free. Each person age 4 and older is a cost of $115 per person.
