What is Akita Backcountry?

Akita Backcountry is a five-day four-night backpacking expedition through the backcountry lands of Camp Akita. On this faith based adventure we will travel on foot exploring Camp Akita in ways few people ever have. Each participant will have opportunities to learn about themselves, faith, nature and valuable outdoor skills. Being immersed in nature is one of the easiest places to feel close to, and see God's beautiful work.

Akita Backcountry is geared towards making you step outside of your normal routine of iPods, cell phones, and your personal comfort zone. Akita Backcountry will challenge you physically, mentally, emotionally, and help you to see that there is more to life than you ever imagined. Don't forget this trip is guaranteed to be FUN!!

When is the next Akita Backcountry?

The next Akita Backcountry will be June 23-27, 2010.  Cost is $300 for First Community Church members and $350 for Non-Members. A minimum $75 non-refundable deposit is required at registration.
